Originally from Saskatchewan, Marianne Derow has been an educator, performer, and director for over 30 years both in Canada and abroad. At the Etobicoke School of the Arts Marianne was Head of the Music Theatre Department, in Bangkok, Thailand, she was the Arts and Activities Director for The International School Bangkok (one of Thailand’s premiere educational institutions for expat students), and for the past six years she has acted as resident drama director for Building Blocks Speech Pathology, creating drama programs for high functioning autistic children. Marianne has also worked with students in The Master Class Series, the No Strings Theatre Program, and in the Toronto Youth Musical Theatre Company. Additionally, Marianne has lent her talents to various productions with Canadian Opera Company, Opera Hamilton, Tapestry New Opera Works, Opera Atelia, and Toronto Operetta Theatre. Marianne also works with students in her private studio Voxworx, and has had the privilage of seeing her students onstage in Toronto's Theatre District, London's Westend, and of course, Broadway.
